About GDA Our volunteer staff:
Don St. Clair, Executive DirectorDon has been involved in environmental activism and political organizing since 1969. As a teenager growing up in Germany, he took part in the protests that spawned the Green Party movement worldwide. After campus activism at UC Santa Cruz, he joined with well known forest activist Darryl Cherney to provide musical support for the movement to save northern California's redwoods - which included a nationwide Redwood Summer Road Show. In 2000 he worked to bring together pragmatic Greens and progressive Democrats in an attempt to prevent a Bush victory while simultaneously organizing strategies to support safe non-spoiler votes for Nader in order to bring him a nationwide 5% threshold for federal financing. Since then, he has continued to work on paradigm shifting models that can lead to progressive majority victories through Green-Democratic cooperation and founded the GDA in 2003. GDA is seeking volunteers around the country to help us share information about the potentialities involved in the concept of a strategic coalition for the purpose of advancing progressive issues. |
